Applying Learning from OMSCS to Build My First AI Product
Room 236
Presenter: Li Liu
Modality: Traditional Talk
Abstract
In this talk, I will share my journey of applying what I learned in OMSCS to build my first AI product: Upskill AI. When building it from scratch, I used research methods from CS 6750: Human-Computer Interaction to design the UI and analyze user needs. I designed the data models with principles from CS 6400: Database Systems Concepts and Design, researched literature on spaced repetition in CS 6460: Educational Technology, applied predictive algorithms from CS 7641: Machine Learning, and used the OMSCS community to gather feedback. Attendees will learn how to build AI products by putting what they learned in class into real applications.
