Alex Duncan

Alex Duncan

General Chair

Alex Duncan is the Senior Director of the Online Master of Science in Computer Science (OMSCS) program, as well as the co-founder of the OMSCS Conference. His research interests lie at the intersection of online education, learning at scale, and student experience.

Alex holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from UT Austin and an M.S. in Human-Computer Interaction from Georgia Tech. Before starting his current position in 2018, he worked at the Georgia Tech Research Institute (GTRI); prior to that, he worked in industry, including positions with Home Depot, Boeing, Epic Systems (nope, not the videogame company), and ConocoPhillips.

Hannah Moon

Hannah Moon

Event and External Chair

Hannah Moon is the Director of External Engagement for OMSCS. Her role is to liaise with organizations outside of Georgia Tech to build relationships and explore collaborative opportunities. Hannah has worked at Georgia Tech for 6 years and is an alumna of GT’s Scheller College of Business. She also holds a bachelor’s degree from the College of William & Mary and a Master of Education degree from the University of Georgia.

Ana Rusch

Ana Mary Rusch

Social and Virtual Chair

Ana Mary Rusch has a bachelor’s degree in International Relations with second majors in both Geography and Political Science, a master’s degree in Geography, and a Ph.D. in Sociology, all from Florida International University. Her dissertation research focused on Immigration and Integration Studies, Cuban Diaspora Studies, and Identity Studies. Ana has worked with online education for most of her career in different capacities across content and design with a focus on research and teaching. Her current research focuses on online education, at-scale education, and affordable degrees, and she has published at several venues such as Learning@Scale and the SIGCSE Technical Symposium.

Ana manages the OMSCS seminars and teaches several seminars including Women in Tech, Computational Sociology, Futurism, and CS in Popular Culture. She also previously taught Digital Health Equity in OMSCS. Additionally, Ana has won several awards at Georgia Tech, such as the Accessibility Advocacy Award, and she completed the Leading Women @Tech program in 2022.

Ana is the Associate Director of Learner Engagement and Student Life and research faculty for the Online Master of Science in Computer Science program at Georgia Tech.
