2025 OMSCS Conference T-Shirt Design Competition!

We'd love your help in designing the T-shirt graphic for the 2025 OMSCS Conference! If you're interested in submitting your idea for a conference T-shirt graphic, keep reading!

Competition Details:

• Submission deadline: Sunday, December 1, 2024 at 11:59 pm AoE (Anywhere on Earth)
• Winner notification: Monday, December 16, 2024 (tentative)
• Eligibility: Any current OMSCS student or OMSCS alum may submit a design
• Prizes:
  • Your design printed on T-shirts given to all 2025 OMSCS Conference in-person attendees
  • Free registration for the 2025 OMSCS Conference
  • Recognition on social media
  • If you're not attending the conference in person, we will ship you a conference swag bag

Technical Details:

• Image file type: vector (SVG or EPS)
• Raw file type: Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, or Photoshop
• Resolution: between 200-300 DPI
• Size: 1024x1024 pixels or larger
• You will be asked to submit both the vector image file AND the raw file.

Design Details:

Your design must:

• Include the phrase "2025 OMSCS Conference"
• Use only those fonts and colors specified on the Georgia Tech Brand Guide
• Look good on at least one of these T-shirt colors:
  • Navy blue (#003057)
  • White (#FFFFFF)
• Be your own original work

Your design must NOT:

• Include additional text (aside from "2025 OMSCS Conference")
• Use more than 3 colors
• Have a background color (i.e., the background should be transparent)
• Use copyrighted material
• Use AI-generated material

Judging Criteria:

Designs will be judged based on:

• Adherence to the competition rules
• Relevance to OMSCS and/or the OMSCS Conference
• Creativity

Design Selection:

A team of judges will select the best design based on the criteria outlined above. Designs will be reviewed anonymously. If your design wins, you may be asked to tweak the design to adapt it for T-shirt printing, or it may be tweaked on your behalf.

Other Information and Tips:

• Multiple submissions are allowed. Please submit a separate form for each design you want to submit.
• When creating your design, it may help to consider what comes to mind when you think about OMSCS. Maybe you think about how OMSCS is helping to shape the future of computing, or about all the different members of the OMSCS community, or about the program's global reach. Let these associations inform your design!
• Clean and simple designs work best—try to avoid designs that are too "busy".
• Consider researching best practices for T-shirt designs before creating your design.

The Fine Print:

By submitting a design to this competition, you affirm that:

• The design is your own original work, created specifically for this design competition. You may not use copyrighted or AI-generated materials in your design, and your design cannot have been used anywhere previously, in any format.
• Georgia Tech retains the right to limited usage of the design, specifically: printing it on T-shirts, sharing it on social media, and including it on the OMSCS Conference website and OMSCS Conference-related communications. Proper attribution will be given to the designer when the design is displayed or reproduced. Georgia Tech will not sell the design or any merchandise on which the design appears and will not receive any direct monetary benefit from usage of the design. All other rights to the design remain with you.
• We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or cancel the competition.
