2026 OMSCS Conference Sunday Events
We'll have a couple of events for folks to connect with each other the day before the conference! You must sign up for these activities in order to attend. You can sign up to attend the bowling/billiards social when you register for the conference. If you indicate on your registration form that you are interested in the service activity, you will receive an email after registration closes prompting you to sign up.

(Sign-up email to be sent after registration closes)
The OMSCS Conference team is delighted to partner with InspiredU for our pre-conference service activity. InspiredU is a nonprofit organization dedicated to help underserved learners of all ages develop the digital skills needed for education and career success. To achieve their purpose of bridging the digital divide, InspiredU:
- Provides home computers with wrap-around programming to help families create more robust learning environments at home
- Helps students build skills and explore careers in technology
- Hosts digital literacy courses for parents, caregivers, and community members of the schools they serve

What We'll Be Doing
It’s likely that our volunteer work will involve hands-on tech activities like reimaging laptops, performing quality checks, or working with inventory. We may even be asked to assist with other helpful tasks like letter writing or landscaping. InspiredU will provide detailed information about our volunteer assignments in April. No prior skills or experience is needed to volunteer.
Time and Transportation
The OMSCS volunteer shift will take place from 9:00 a.m. to noon on Sunday, May 10th. The conference team will provide group transportation to and from the event. The group transportation van will pick up passengers outside the Global Learning Center (GLC) at 8:40 a.m. Drop off will be at the same location around 12:15 p.m. Volunteers have the option to drive themselves to the event or take the group transportation option.
4:00–6:00 p.m.: Bowling and Billiards
(Sign-up available during registration)
Come hang out at Tech Rec in the Georgia Tech Student Center for an afternoon of bowling and billiards! The cost to attend is $10, paid with your conference registration, which covers your games and bowling shoes for the full 2 hours (but you'll need to have your own socks!).
