What is your academic and/or professional background? If you're currently working, what do you do?

I've worked in cybersecurity since I graduated with my CS undergraduate degree. I currently work as a Security Engineer for a company called Trail of Bits. We are a boutique security firm focused on solving tough security problems: we help our customers audit their code for vulnerabilities and develop cutting-edge security tooling.

Why do you TA for OMSCS?

I've always enjoyed teaching. At previous jobs I helped develop and teach internal classes for engineers. So becoming a TA was an obvious choice.

What is/was your favorite course or professor in OMSCS, and why?

So far my favorite class has been CS 7400: Quantum Computing. It's so different than what I do in my day job. The material is very interesting and I learned a ton!

What is your preferred programming language, and why?

As a security guy this is going to be weird, but C. I love how simple the language is, despite its warts.

What is your favorite way to relax after a long day of debugging?

There is no relaxing when you're both working and taking classes lol.

Tell us about why you feel the work that you do is significant and why it is important that you are the one doing it.

At my job I get to work on tough security challenges that help make the world a safer place. We work with some of the biggest companies in the world and help secure their software.
