What do you do professionally?

I'm a PhD student in Computational Science and Engineering at Georgia Tech, where I specialize in using machine learning to model hydrological processes. My research straddles multiple disciplines including: Machine Learning, Hydrology, Geographic Information Systems, and Environmental Science.

Why do you TA for OMSCS?

I serve as a TA for CSE 6250: Big Data for Health Informatics. This course explores the application of big data technologies and machine learning in healthcare data analytics. I find it immensely rewarding to help guide students through this challenging yet exciting field.

What is your advice for future OMSCS students?

Undoubtedly, OMSCS is a demanding program that will push you both academically and professionally. However, it's worth remembering that the coursework is closely aligned with current industry applications. While the workload may seem overwhelming, your persistence will not only sharpen your skill set but also make you more marketable in your future career. Additionally, I encourage all to actively check the course website and Ed discussions for valuable insights and updates from both the instructors and the TA team.

What's your best study hack?

Before attending any class, I make it a point to preview the slides. This pre-reading allows me to have a better grasp of the material that will be discussed, preparing me to engage more deeply during the lecture. I also believe in the value of independent problem-solving. While it may be time-consuming, working through challenges on my own ensures that the concepts are etched into my memory.
